Did you see that?
NYFW was such an exciting time. The shows each year never disappoint and this season was no different. I really hope you all were able to catch some of these beautiful designs that graced the runways and if not, I’m here to help! SO many trends, so many designs, so many gorgeous models to admire.
The first trend that you know that I was going to notice was the animal print trend!! You all know I love leopard print and to see it on the runway, my eyes lit all the way up! Designers like Calvin Klein, Alyx, Baja East, Ashley Williams, and Adam Lippes graced the stage with leopard, cheetah, snake print and much more. These prints should definitely be on your radar for this upcoming Spring season!
Next, the intensity of the saturated colors in the Prabal Gurung and Nanushka shows were so aesthetically pleasing. I could not take my eyes off the runway for even a second when these models walked by. I was thrilled to see these bright colors lighting up the room and bringing the type of energy I expect to see during this time of year. I am so inspired and so amazed and will definitely make an effort to expand my wardrobe color palette.
When we talk about fashion shows, you can always expect the glamour to be present. Designers like Rodarte and Tom Ford showed us collections full of absolutely exceptional pieces that can only be worn to the finest of events. When you purchase these gowns, just save them for the next place you are trying to be a show-stopper at. Then you won’t have to worry about getting an outfit later. You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready.
Navy is one of those colors that tend to go well with many others. Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Tome, and Marchesa all gave us breathtaking designs to admire as they walked the runway. Do not think for a second that because this is not a bright color, it won’t work for Spring because you will be sadly mistaken. Take a good look at the intricacies and detailing then make your decision!
The final trend that was prominent on the runway this season was definitely a throwback to the 70’s designers, as per usual, are inspired by decades prior and they recreate the looks they know and love to bring a similar feel to new generations. Zimmermann’s collection was an homage to Number 96, a show she used to watch as a young girl. These designs put a twist on the 70’s style and created such a beautiful collection.
Stay tuned for more to come about fashion around the world my loves!
