Travel with the Environment in Mind

There is definitely no reason that you should compromise your way of life for anything, including traveling. Did you know that there are hotels around the world made with the environment in mind? I’m sure some of us haven’t looked into the option before, but I have come to the rescue with 10 Eco-Friendly Hotels around the world!

White Pod: located in the Swiss Alps. You can sleep in “low impact accommodations” while using minimal water & electricity. 

Hotel Punta Islita: Guanacaste, Costa Rica. A beach resort that participates in reforestation activities regularly and offers a culturally authentic experience.  

Proximity Hotel: Greensboro, NC. The first hotel in the USA to receive the LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and also features a vegetated rooftop and solar panel for heating water.   

Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge: Morgan’s Rock, Nicaragua. About half of their 4000 acres is a private reserve, and sustainably sourced wood has been used for the infrastructure and furniture within the resort.   

Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort: Belize. They are committed to protecting their biodiversity and ecosystem and do so by minimizing their impact on the environment and maximizes their knowledge of their surroundings.

Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Gardo: Gargnano, Italy. A resort built into the villages hill where they collect rainwater & manage waste sustainability to help keep the ecosystem intact.   

Lapa Rios Ecolodge: Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. Lapa Rios Ecolodge is a 1,000-acre rainforest reserve that is the last remaining tropical lowland rainforest in Central America. They use solar power energy to heat their water and have created specially designed bungalow that allows for the maximum amount of fresh air to flow through and a beautiful view.

Inn by the Sea: Crescent Beach Maine. This Inn is surrounded by lush greenery, uses recycled materials used for packaging of the all natural room amenities, non-toxic cleaning products, biofuel & solar energy for heat. 

Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa: Tulum, Mexico. A hotel focused on promoting social responsibility within their environment by reducing their impact on the planet with minimal waste, emissions, energy consumption, combustion and water use.

The Green House: Bournemouth, UK. This Hotel has been recognized as one of the top eco-hotels in the world. The Green House uses energy efficient lighting, solar power to generate electricity and organic and locally sourced food where possible.
