Michael Kors– Cali gone cozy is how I see it. Fringe and knits in earthy tones and perfect printed sheer dresses cinched with leather belts made for an easy to wear collection.
Marchesa- as per usual, the elegance of evening dressing was flawless. Stunning dresses embellished in lace, and vibrant hues like blue and red were out and about. There was an emphasis on texture, and it was amazing.
Reed Krakoff- wrap skirts in different colors, prints and textures were paired with sweatshirts and blouses to enhance the versatility of the pieces. The colors were more or less neutral, but snake print recurred throughout.
Hugo Boss– As Jason Wu took the reign as the designer for the collection that debuted, naturally, it was impressive and a great push forward into clean and classic women’s wear.
Proenza Schouler– Hello prints on prints on prints. The signature Proenza bustier top was back and at it, as were an array of colorful, eclectic prints mixing and matching with coats and pants down the runway. Funky and wild, a nice shift away from anything monotone.
Wes Gordon– Aside from some serious deep V’s and lace action, the collection had a beautiful balance. Cozy sweaters, flowy, silky and delicate evening dresses and some great outerwear (look 1) affirmed serious talent for this relatively new designer.
Vera Wang– if anyone has ever mastered dark romance to perfection, it would be this collection right here. I don’t think anyone has ever associated the ultimate wedding dress maker as a master of grunge, but this collection spoke for itself. Well done!
Oscar de la Renta– Starting off the show with some pinstriped suits gave off a masculine vibe, but the feminine silhouettes decked out in colors and lace came in time to unveil a beautiful collection. One dress more perfect than the next…
Ralph Lauren– whites, pastels, draping coats and shawls and serious fur worked like magic down the runway this morning. Classic suits and upmost sophistication was embedded throughout each and every piece, as well as silky evening gowns and some suede knee high boots.
