Trends on Trends
New York Fashion Week continues to run it’s course, and the runways summoned up some serious style inspiration for upcoming wardrobes. Different designers spotlighted different trends, but a few of them are essential to note. From glitter and glamour to basics and a hint of edge, here are a few trends to keep on your radar.
- Casual-Cool. Michael Kors embodied the ultimate casual-cool look. Everything was laid back and effortless, yet beautifully put together. Picture packing for the perfect getaway. You’ll want to make sure you take everything on this runway with you–from sequins, to floppy trenches and tie-dye.
- Glam. Leave it to Coach 1941 to shower the runway with glitter, and accentuate metallics with a little touch of punk rock for the perfect badass runway. Oh, and all the silky bomber jackets–yes please.
- Back to Basics. Not all things are glitter and shine! 3.1 Phillip Lim embodied basics to its best. Pinstripes and solids made a vast appearance, along with all things oversized. Well, and a few not-so-basics.
- Edge. Alexander Wang can always push the envelope. And it always works. Mix a little bit of naughty and nice, and you get a fierce and edgy to rock on any streets.
