when in Paris…
And the runways continue. From lacy boho chic at Elie Saab, to a serious wild card at Saint Laurent (’80s, anyone?), Paris Fashion Week is still going strong. Here is a glimpse of some catwalk action, and trends to match.
Elie Saab incorporated all things feminine and lace as usual, and mastered the entire collection A-Z. There was a killer bohemian flair going on, with flowy and fabulous pieces that would work wonders in any wardrobe. Aside from black and florals, there were also some deep hues like violet going on.
Valentino started off with solids and neutrals, and wove in some Aztec-inspired prints, then some sequins, lace, and soft, delicate tulle ensembles. There were high necklines, ballerina-like outfits, and an overall sophisticated portrayal of ‘the modern woman.’
Saint Laurent lent a serious nod to the ’80s. With extremely bold shoulders, teeny tiny dresses, out-there prints, colors, and textures, the show’s glitz and glamour certainly brought forth a blast from the past in the most non-discreet manner.
Stella McCartney featured a serious mash up this time around! Lots of puffy coats (taken to new levels), and some swan prints and lace roaming throughout. Velvet was present, as was tie-dye denim, and a whole mix up of surprises.
