Marant & Dior
I have a serious soft spot in my heart (and wardrobe) for Isabel Marant, so this show only elevated the appreciation I have for the French designer. A little bit of punk rock, a little bit of out-there prints, and a whole lot of color and personality roamed its way down the catwalk, and I was into every bit of it. Especially
the juxtaposition between rockstar (hello leopard jacket outfit) and then girly with a long black dress. There’s no choosing between one or the other, you kind of want it all.
And then there was Dior. The coats were killer. The shapes and textures of the jackets, the details, the sequins, the fur…everything. It was interesting to see that even with Raf Simons out of the show, the looks maintained the Dior image, and absolutely held up to the expectations we have in mind for the designer.
